Auklyn is the culmination of a quest shaped by more than a decade of developing exclusive loudspeaker drivers for prestigious HiFi brands and contributing to demanding acoustic projects: to reproduce music in all its richness, space, life and emotion.
Our commitment to these companies, driven by a constant desire to progress, made it necessary to factually identify what still separated reproduced music from the original.
To move forward, it was no longer sufficient to observe the audio signal as an established response, fixed in the frequency domain. It also had to be considered for what it fundamentally is: a succession of transient regimes, to be studied in the time domain.
Kartesian’s expertise gives us access to the most decisive component in a loudspeaker system, the one that transforms the electrical signal into a sound source: the driver.
Auklyn is born at this junction: where innovative transducers and proprietary measurement tools make it possible to give form to a reproduction that is more faithful to dynamics, nuances and musical essence.
A Conviction
Dynamics reveal the real.
To quantify the quality of transient regimes and micro-dynamics, Kartesian has developed a specific and proprietary measurement methodology:
KRT — Kinetic Response Tracking.
KRT is not intended to replace conventional measurements, which remain essential.
Nor does KRT replace listening, which, for us, remains the final judge of any acoustic approach.
KRT opens a complementary field of understanding and progress: that of sonic dynamics.
Its function is precise: to make observable phenomena that listening has always perceived, but that conventional measurements do not describe sufficiently.
Several new-generation projects, in very high-end HiFi as well as in the professional world, already use KRT analyses in their development.
The results obtained confirm the relevance of this approach: when dynamics, transients and micro-information are better understood, progress does not remain theoretical. It can be heard.
At the Heart of Auklyn
Auklyn relies exclusively on _vKi drivers.
While every component contributes to the final result, the driver remains the heart of an acoustic loudspeaker.
The _vKi transducers are the result of years of research, innovation, prototyping, measurements and listening, guided by one central objective: to preserve the dynamics and nuances of a complex signal.
These exceptional transducers achieve levels of performance with no known equivalent in comparable conventional architectures.

Meaning and Results

_vKi transducers can only express themselves fully if the entire system is designed in coherence with their level of performance. Auklyn’s exacting standard requires mastery of the acoustic loading, the filtering and all the constituent components of the loudspeaker.
Technical development is supported by tangible, documented reasons, combining dozens of hours of listening with dozens of acoustic measurements. Every technical choice is made without bias, belief or marketing potential: only the results and the coherence with the product’s intended purpose decide.
By mastering the entire process, from R&D to the manufacturing of its products in France, Auklyn aims for the highest level of quality, production repeatability, durability and long-term support.
